Halloween Lion November 10, 2009

Filed under: Holiday — egwights @ 5:22 am

I am on the activities committee for our ward – so I went and helped set up our ward Halloween party – which actually turned out to be pretty fun. I didn’t think Emma would get into the kid-activities too well because of all the noise and people everywhere, but she had so much fun! I’m really upset I didn’t take my camera to that part! She went fishing for prizes, candy tosses, duck ponds, put put golf (not good at the end of that game because she didn’t feel they needed the ball and puck back), but the very best was the bean bag toss. She actually threw one from a few feet back and made it through the hole! I’m hoping for a tom-boy, so it may have been luck, but I’m going to say it was a good sign of throwing ability!

These two white balls in her hands are chocholate eye-balls that she personally picked out from her bean bag toss. She loved them so much, she held them in the car the whole ride home, and the ride back to another part! I went to pull her out, and the chocolate and peanut-butter were oozing out of her hands….yummy!

IMG_1736EIMG_1732E IMG_1733E

Our party didn’t have a Trunk-Or-Treat, so we crashed my friend Sarah’s ward party, too. We tried to get Emma to say Trick-Or-Treat to them, but she would just have her bag out and say “treat”. The girl knows what’s important.

Sarah and Chris dressed up as Popeye and Olive-oil – very cute!

IMG_1738E I tried to get her treat bag away so I could buckle her up…. not the best idea. She had quite a grip on that thing.

You can’t tell from the pictures – but Brad was pretty sick this day – barely moving on the couch, but got himself up and ready because he didn’t want to miss Emma on Halloween! How sweet huh? What a great Dad! It’s always so much fun going as a whole family – and it was a great Halloween activity!

Corn Maze November 3, 2009

Emma and I took another trip to Twin Falls so Brad could concentrate on all his school-work and study for some tests. It was fun to see the family again, and have Emma play and get to know her cousins a little better! We had a lot of fun going to the corn maze with Angela’s family and Curt’s family! We chased kids through the corn maze – losing a few once and a while – and got some fun fall pictures in the corn. (I know I went a little crazy with the photoshop effects – just experimenting a little more)

Believe it or not – this was the best facial expression I could get from Emma unless I was on the other side of the camera; she just kept glaring at everyone! Sorry!

IMG_1707E IMG_1711E IMG_1717E

This is our greek-goddess in the corn – my oldest niece Autumn. We’ve been able to spend more time with Angela over the last few months – which has been nice – so Emma always warms up pretty well with her and Keegan especially.

Angry Eyes November 1, 2009

Well – all the pictures are finally downloaded, and I’d love to post all the fun we’ve had the last couple weeks, but our family has caught some type of 24 hour sickness, so this will have to do! Emma loves doing her angry eyes – for laughs from us, but as a serious threat to those she’s not too happy with. I love how animated she can be!

More to come… October 29, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — egwights @ 8:37 pm

Well, I’ve been told you guys are tired of looking at my knees, but due to a recent computer crash – Brad’s having to re-download all the applications back onto the computer – which includes my camera downloading program. So he’s not going to have time for that until Saturday! So come back then and I’ll have a new batch of pictures for you – which will include the newly-developed “angry eyes”, and our latest trip to Twin Falls, the corn maze, and activities with all the cousins.

Volleyball October 15, 2009

Filed under: Alicia — egwights @ 8:57 pm

I was so excited when I found a co-ed church group that plays volleyball once a week, and they’re really good! It’s not like a bunch of girls getting together to socialize (which is ok sometimes), but it’s really nice to finally be able to actually play again and have it be a challenge to do well! So it took me a while to get back in the swing of it because I haven’t played for years. As the weeks have gone on – I am finally getting all my skills back, but I’ve noticed as my skills improve – the blood and bruises increase. It wasn’t  necessary for knee pads at first, but I must say I won’t forget knee pads next week….

Luau August 27, 2009

Angela and my mom threw a great luau party! Everyone had so much fun!  It was the first time in several months that Brad was able to come with Emma and I, and we all had a blast!

This is Keegan, Emma, and Jack on the piano, one of the Egbert-household’s favorite toys.

At Emma’s first chance getting outside, she runs directly to the pond. She loves to sit on the little bridge and run her feet, hands, and everything else in the water. (You’ll notice in later pictures, she has no pants… she was soaked, but had so much fun!

IMG_1547IMG_1549

This is Carson and Emma – they were so cute playing in the water together, that I had to post a few! The pond has been so much fun for grandkids – even though grandpa doesn’t appreciate all the rocks being thrown to the bottom… Good thing Brad and I had our reception there so you had an excuse to build it huh?

IMG_1582IMG_1575First winners – Maddie & Kenadee

I think Claire won this one, and Autumn won the next ( We had to make them walk while hula-hooping to get them to fall.. WOW!)

I won the 19 and up group – but I don’t have any pictures of it because of all the booty & hip action that was going on.

I didn’t get very many pictures over at the Wights – and the ones I did, didn’t turn out very well – so hopefully there were some other people taking pictures! This is the Gary Wight kids and Emma – Emma was trying to convince them that it was time to go “bye-bye” to church.

Ever wonder where Emma gets all her goofy-ness? See below….

Always Love Big Sister Visits August 26, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — egwights @ 7:43 pm

Well, I started downloading pictures, and realized I had more than 100 on there just from this week, so I’ll do a few posts of the highlights :)

IMG_1421IMG_1424Emma and Keegan.. So Cute!

My oldest sister Angela came to visit us for a few days. Here are the boys with their tent in the backyard (it was a little chilly when they came though – so they ended up in the house anyway – but it was fun to have a tent back there). On Angela’s last visit about a month ago, she convinced me to get these blocks at a yard sale — what a great idea! The kids loved playing with them! The boys are so great with Emma!!

IMG_1521IMG_1491

We then took a trip to the zoo; the monkeys are always the favorites. Emma kept doing her evil laugh at them as they hit eachother and swung away!

IMG_1495IMG_1503Colin, Angela, Emma, Zach, and Keegan

The lizard (I had a ton of pictures from the zoo.. but these will do). Thanks again Angela for watching Emma so Brad and I could go on a miniature golfing date for our 4 year anniversary! Even though I lost miserably, we had a lot of fun!

IMG_1516IMG_1505

This is what I spend a lot of my time doing… ready books over and over again… This kid loves to read books, and I’m sure that’s where a lot of her brain food comes from, so I don’t mind reading.

Mom’s “glamour shot” – I thought it was beautiful! Had to do some editing to get few people out – but I thought it turned out pretty good!

IMG_1416EAngela and Keegan – I like this picture, too!

IMG_1389EIMG_1418E2

All the siblings; I was trying to crouch down to make sure back row could be seen, but just ended up looking bad bent over! Wish people taking pictures would have said something! Oh well – always next time!

In the second family picture – I had everyone smiling and looking in the right direction, except for Brian – but thanks to photoshop – I switched his head with a good smiling one! I love photoshop!

IMG_1396EAll the cousins that were there. At least there were a few faces looking in the right direction! (Ignore the leg under Emma – it was the only way I could get her in the picture without tears :) IMG_1396E2Mom gave me a challenge to get a few more kid faces looking in the right direction… I got a few of them changed (can’t tell very well when the pics are this small) but any of you who have a better face in one of your pictures, and is from about the same angle… let me know!

18 Months August 13, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — egwights @ 11:28 pm

Emma is finally 18 months! Nursery here we come! We’re (Me) so excited! It’s so hard to get a good smile on camera because she’s always so busy. So I tell her to ’smile’ and she relates to “if you chance to meet a frown – change it to a smile’ song that we’ve been learning – and I get the frown instead… Oh well – it’s cute, too.

IMG_1478EIMG_1441EIMG_1453EIMG_1452EIMG_1461EI know where to get the good smile though.. the park swings are her favorite!

New Member Of The Family July 28, 2009

This is George-Michael, our new little kitten. He’s about 8 weeks old, and surprisingly, gets along with Emma really well. She loves this little guy, and it’s nice for her to have something else to play with besides me! He’s really mellow – so no scratches, bites or squishing yet – they just follow each other around and share toys.

IMG_1376IMG_1375

He hates to be alone, and Emma and I were up making breakfast, so he jumped up to sit by Emma. Who knew a kitten and toddler could get along so well!
