We found this fabulous sale on snow-crab and steak – So that night we made a really really yummy dinner!

At Home Depot – they had a free kids workshop making bird-houses, and Brad brought one home to build with Emma! She has so much fun puttering around with him!

This is the finished product. She’s so proud of her little handprint!

We then went outside for a few fireworks; Emma loved them at first, but then one of them whistled really loud, and she wasn’t too thrilled anymore. We had  a lot of fun together though!

It got too quiet…. July 10, 2009

So there I was doing something on the computer, and I realize it’s silent.. Where’s Emma?

IMG_1343IMG_1344

Emma always pretends to put lotions and stuff in her hair and on her face, because she see’s mommy in the bathroom getting make-up on and doing hair.  This time wasn’t pretend. She somehow got the DESITIN  open and proceeded to get some on her finger and put it in her hair. This first picture – she didn’t know I had found her yet, but the second one – she realizes she’s in trouble…

(note that Desitin is designed to “seal out wetness” so water is pointless… but I threw her in the tub anyway to contain the mess, and wiped her down with wipees) I don’t think she’s going to learn the lesson from this since instead of a punishment, got pictures taken and an extra bath (her favorite thing). Oh well, at least  she kept it all on herself and not on the rug – and we all got a good laugh at it.

Here are a some of my recent favorite pictures of Emma… So sweet!

IMG_1311EIMG_1338IMG_1339

This is her pictures of her doing the evil laugh…. don’t know where she got this one, but it’s hilarious!

IMG_1333IMG_1318

Emma loves being up where she can see and “help out” with what I’m doing in the kitchen. This is my first pie ever, and I was so proud of myself! It even tasted good!

IMG_1326IMG_1303

This is Emma in Brad’s nerdy-science glasses. She kept trying to put them on her face and so I put them on her, and she would get soooo mad when they would slip off. She’d go look at her reflection in the stove and laugh. She thought she was sooo cool.

The Move June 13, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — egwights @ 3:52 am

Well – It’s been a while since our last post due to moving from our apartment to a nice little house! We’re very excited to be here;  it’s just so much more like a home. It’s an older 3 bedroom with a garage. It has a nice big yard with big trees – and we all seem to like it quite a bit! Emma has more room to just run around and play. Brad and I are doing great! Brad was offered a paid internship working with computers for 10 weeks – and we’re really excited! This will be a great opportunity to give him some experience to put on his resume, and he’ll be in heaven working with computers all day! Someone must be looking out for us!

Last time we moved, Emma had a pretty rough time, but she enjoyed herself this time playing in the boxes and throwing random objects into others — unpacking was a blast….

IMG_1279IMG_1278

Gary, Amanda, and the kids came to spend the night on their way to Oregon – so it was nice to have a yard for them to play in for a bit. We love having extra kids over for Emma to play with.

IMG_1287IMG_1284

Emma’s favorite thing right now is WATER. I just give her a bowl of water, and as you can see in the background, she has a bit ‘o fun. Loves getting up to the sink and splashing as I do dishes, and any other type of water fun – she’s right there.

GOOD MORNING EMMA!! She has scary hair in the morning—- it’s pretty cute.

IMG_1292IMG_1267

In the house we’re in, the garage door has a doggy-door. I’ll go in there to get something or take out the trash, and she promptly closes the door, peeks through the doggy door, and says “HI”. Really cute, but not so much fun when you’ve got a heavy box, and she won’t move back..

Love all-around May 3, 2009

I’m starting to get a little jealous with the monkey getting all the love, but it’s just so cute!

img_1248img_1249img_12531img_12501Gazing deep into those loving eyes… (do you see the soaked, gnawed-on tail? It’s pretty gross….)

img_1238 Our sweet little pray-er. She’s always reminding us to pray over meals by folding her arms and saying amen when I get the food out. And when it’s time to go to bed, we read scriptures, and then she kneels down and folds her arms! You have to keep them pretty short though, because ten seconds in and she’s poking all your facial features… the eyes and ears are her favorites…

img_1258Emma and I took a quick trip to Twin last weekend while Brad was occupied with school and work. Emma had a lot of fun with all the little cousins, but her all-time favorite was Grandpa’s piano. Dancing to the beats, pushing all the buttons and keys – she loved it! She would let anyone pick her up if it was to put her on the piano, and she didn’t care if there was another soul in the room… she just kept groovin’

Outside! April 16, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — egwights @ 7:09 pm

We’ve been having a blast with the good weather! Emma loves being outside where she can run free and pet the neighbor’s Pug Frank – So cute! She also has discovered dirt, rocks, and the neighbor’s potted flowers…. not the best thing. She is insistent that she walk the entire way to the mailbox at the bottom of the lane and back and throws a fit when picked up to be directed in the right direction- but all in all, we’re so excited for the warm weather supposedly coming soon!

img_1228img_1211

For those who haven’t seen Emma in a while, I thought I’d let you know – She is finally growing some good hair, and it has the cutest little curls at the ends! In this second picture, I was trying to show that she has 4 teeth! (I tried to move her lips out of the way, but she bit me, so this is the best tooth-picture you’re getting!)

img_12201img_1227

Well, I tried to grab a little computer time while Emma was distracted, and a few minutes later, I find the box of 100 Neon Straws emptied throughout the kitchen and living room and tupperware and bowls everywhere. It was worth it I guess, we both enjoyed it!

img_1235img_1233pe

Emma’s turning into quite a cuddler – I love it! But most of the cuddles are because she wants a soft spot to relax and drink her juice – which she is addicted to. Her new thing is helping out with unloading the dishwasher. She gets to hand me the silverware and put the plastic bowls away. She loves to help out – and anytime she hears the dishwasher open, she’s right by my side! What a great kid – huh?

As an update with us, I was assigned to give the Easter lesson to the YW,  and I was pretty overwhelmed, but it turned out to be a great opportunity, and went pretty well. I’ve been getting some digital scrapbooking done, and trying to help Brad design some web-sites – It’s been pretty fun!  Brad’s still doing AWESOME in school, working at Home Depot, and working to put together some new, cool sites!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Oh – I almost forgot the funny story! Grandpa and Grandma Wight came for another little visit, and right before they were leaving, Judy needed to use the restroom. (When we use the bathroom, Emma likes to scratch on the door, stick her fingers under, or shove under little toys for us to play with). Well, Grandma didn’t shut the door tight enough, and Emma barged right in and had a nice little conversation with her! The rest of us were dying of laughter in the other room! – Due to graphic-potty nature – no pictures… but it was funny! Sorry Grandma!

Old Penitentiary March 28, 2009

It was a gorgeous day today, so we decided to go to the Old Penitentiary. We had a great time! Definitely not a place I would want to stay. We were able to go around to all the buildings, solitary confinement (yikes), the gallows and death row building, all the cells, a museum with all the WWII weapons, and more.

img_1189img_1190

The cells were extremely small. This one isn’t too bad, because the other one’s had 2-4 people that had to stay in one about the same size! Very dirty!

img_1191img_1194peFinally got them both behind bars!

img_1202img_1206Ended the day with a nice little walk; all-in-all a great day at prison!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Emma when she turned a year old. I’ll probably regret not taking her in for professional pictures, but I don’t think I would have been able to get her to give such good smiles!

Brad’s Birthday March 3, 2009

Filed under: Brad — egwights @ 10:54 pm

Brad was at school and work for his entire birthday, so we pushed off the celebration to the weekend. Brad’s parents came up – and I’ll let you know, our table and kitchen countertop were covered in cookies, cakes, rolos, carmellos, and all sorts of sugar! Emma is pretty happy with the miny-Emma cookies, and I’m trying to resist the pile…  We then met up with Aunt Annetta and Grandpa and went out to eat at the Texax Roadhouse. WOW!!! We were completely satisfied with the steamy, fresh roles and cinnamin butter, and then came the meat! I have to agree with Brad – Texas knows how to cook their meat! We were thoroughly impressed! Brad’s never too excited when his birthday come around, but I think we all had a good time.
