Well – There have been a lot of happenings these last few weeks, and due to a double-computer crash – yes that’s two computers within a few weeks – I will have to post pictures some other time!
Emma has turned one! Time goes by so fast, and I can’t believe we made it and she still lives! I made her a monkey cake for her birthday – and she thoroughly enjoyed destroying it! At her one-year check up, we find that she is in the 8th percentile for weight, and 20th for height – so she’s still short, but not fat – and the hair is finally starting to come in, but no teeth yet. Dr thinks she’ll have 4-6 teeth within the next month or so because her gums are swollen, and when they take this long to come in, they usually come more than one at a time to ‘catch up’. She has about 20 words that she can say, and is running all over the place – throwing bowls and spoons everywhere. If I can’t find something, the first place to check is under the couch or stuffed in her toys.
We all went to Wightfest 2009 in Utah, and had a blast racing in the go-karts! We had a lot of fun with all the brothers and wives, and Emma finally warmed up to a few people! What a blessing that was that she wasn’t screaming and clinging the whole time!
I have finally began to learn how to digital scrapbook with photoshop, and had been having a blast finally getting Emma’s birth pictures done. I had about 7 or 8 pages done – and then…. computer crash. I am devastated! All my downloaded material, tutorials, pages – gone (so far). We haven’t been able to retrieve them yet, but Brad has a few more ideas to try – so fingers are crossed! If not – it was good practice, and I haven’t lost the original pictures.
Young Womens has been fun! It’s hard to believe it’s a calling – except for giving lessons. This week for mutual – we played floor hockey, and then dodge-ball…. I now have a shiner. I was hit in the eye with a miniature football. Luckily, it’s not a very bad one – just a purple splotch above my eye, and when my eye’s open, you can’t see it.
Brad’s doing great in school; he’s got a full schedule. When he’s not at school, he’s home studying, working on computers, or at the glorious Home Depot. – not to forget playing with his ‘bestest buddy’ Emma-pants. Yeh – I don’t know where that nick-name came from either. Emma likes to play with Brad’s backpack – and often stuffs some of her toys in the pockets, I’m sure just to make sure he’s not bored at school. Yesterday – instead of putting something in – she found a half-eaten Carmello. By the time I noticed, she had already discovered how scrumptious it was, and wouldn’t let any of the oosing chocolate and carmel out of her hands without a scream – so I just let her finish it off.
