Love all-around May 3, 2009

Filed under: Emma — egwights @ 4:35 am

I’m starting to get a little jealous with the monkey getting all the love, but it’s just so cute!

img_1248img_1249img_12531img_12501Gazing deep into those loving eyes… (do you see the soaked, gnawed-on tail? It’s pretty gross….)

img_1238 Our sweet little pray-er. She’s always reminding us to pray over meals by folding her arms and saying amen when I get the food out. And when it’s time to go to bed, we read scriptures, and then she kneels down and folds her arms! You have to keep them pretty short though, because ten seconds in and she’s poking all your facial features… the eyes and ears are her favorites…

img_1258Emma and I took a quick trip to Twin last weekend while Brad was occupied with school and work. Emma had a lot of fun with all the little cousins, but her all-time favorite was Grandpa’s piano. Dancing to the beats, pushing all the buttons and keys – she loved it! She would let anyone pick her up if it was to put her on the piano, and she didn’t care if there was another soul in the room… she just kept groovin’

Old Penitentiary March 28, 2009

Filed under: Alicia, Brad, Emma — egwights @ 4:28 am

It was a gorgeous day today, so we decided to go to the Old Penitentiary. We had a great time! Definitely not a place I would want to stay. We were able to go around to all the buildings, solitary confinement (yikes), the gallows and death row building, all the cells, a museum with all the WWII weapons, and more.

The cells were extremely small. This one isn’t too bad, because the other one’s had 2-4 people that had to stay in one about the same size! Very dirty!

img_1191img_1194peFinally got them both behind bars!

Emma’s 1 year pictures March 15, 2009

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Emma when she turned a year old. I’ll probably regret not taking her in for professional pictures, but I don’t think I would have been able to get her to give such good smiles!

Emma’s 1st Birthday March 3, 2009

Filed under: Emma — egwights @ 10:43 pm

Emma, as you all know, is unseparable from her monkies, so I figured a monkey cake would be great! So I went to find a monkey cake pan, and had absolutely no luck. I did happen to find a Dora the Explorer cake pan though, and I figured, if evolutionists could say humans evolved from monkeys, I could reverse it and turn a Dora into a monkey, right? Well, it didn’t turn out the greatest, but it resembles a monkey, so my work is done!

Special Olympics March 3, 2009

Filed under: Alicia, Emma — egwights @ 10:30 pm

Well, Brad is a genius, and was able to retrieve all my stuff! It’s so wonderful having my own personal computer guru! So over the next little bit, I’ll try to get some good pictures and updates posted. My parents came up to Boise to watch their Indian special olympic team compete on floor hockey, and Emma and I were able to sneak over and watch a little bit. We had a good time; Emma wasn’t too pleased with the India team poking her cheeks and holding her, but it was a fun experience. They loved the little white baby!  I’m glad we were able to go! Also, there were some people from Tokyo on the stands that saw Emma, and gave her some cute origami things and a pin.

Emma has discovered that she loves spaghetti! Can you tell? It’s a complete mess, but she’s happy, so I’m not complaining. (in the second picture, you can’t see it very well, but there’s a noodle on her forehead, and sauce in her hair) —–Bath time!!!

Alllll clean!                                                                       Are you still taking pictures!

Brad was happy with his food, too. He wouldn’t let me post the after shot….but let me tell you, I was frightened! (just kidding)

Emma Talking January 17, 2009

Filed under: Emma — egwights @ 5:13 am

Well, Emma has been saying quite a few words lately, so we took a video of one with our neighberhood cat. At 10 months she was saying “dada, mama, and baby,” now at 11 months, she talks more than I do! Book, ball, yogurt, cracker, and our favorites  belly-button “bizzy-butn” and “kittie” – which is the clearest so far. This kid is hilarious! (The video’s a little longer, but the cutest ones are at the beginning)

Ward Christmas Party December 19, 2008

Filed under: Emma, Holiday — egwights @ 7:41 pm

We all had a great time at the ward Christmas party. We ate food and were in the front row for the programs – which Emma was bustin’ moves to the whole time. She loves to dance! Then we got in line to see Santa Clause, expecting to get the classic screaming baby. Well, Emma screams with Jeff and everyone else at Thanksgiving, but has no problems at all with Santa.  Who knew? Guess she knows not to be mean to the one who gives gifts and candy!
